Audiometry Program Introduction:
The aim of the audiometry program is to train staff working in the field of hearing and hearing disorders, assessment of hearing, rehabilitation of hearing and speech disorders. Audiometrics work in public and private hospitals and school for the deaf. In our country, there is a need for intermediate professionals in the field of audiology. For this reason, graduates do not have much trouble finding a job.
Purpose of the Program: The aim of the audiometry program is to train staff working in the field of hearing and hearing disorders, assessment of hearing, rehabilitation of hearing and speech disorders.
Main Courses Taught in the Program: First year in audiometry department; Basic courses such as physics, statistics, psychology, child development, physiology, anatomy, pathology, vocational courses on audiology, ear, nose and throat diseases, hearing aids, audiometric devices are taught in the second year and practice is done in ear nose throat-audiology clinics.
Required Qualifications: Students who want to enter this program should educate themselves well in physics, physiology, anatomy, pathology, especially ear, nose and throat diseases. Since audiology is a young and rapidly developing branch and the subject concerns human health, it requires a determined and meticulous study.
Graduates' Title and Jobs: Students who have completed the audiometry program are given the title of "Audiometrist". The audiometrist measures the hearing in the otolaryngology clinics of official and private hospitals under the supervision of an otolaryngologist; performs differential tests for the diagnosis of ear diseases, applies hearing aids to patients with severe hearing; conducts hearing screening in schools.
Practice Areas: Audiometrists work in public and private hospitals and schools for the deaf. In our country, there is a need for intermediate professionals in the field of audiology. Therefore, graduates may not have a job finding problem.
