Prosthesis is an artificial organ made in the loss of organs or limbs. Orthesis are auxiliary devices applied to body parts that need to be supported, protected, fixed or corrected for any reason.

Orthopedic Prosthetics and Orthotics Technician; In case of loss of hand, foot and similar organs, it works in the production of artificial organs (prostheses) that will fulfill the functions of these organs even partially or auxiliary devices (orthoses) applied to parts that need to be supported, protected and corrected in the body.

What are the Courses Taken in the Orthopedic Prosthetics and Orthotics Program?

Basic courses such as Basic Anatomy and Physiology, Kinesiology Biomechanics, Material Knowledge I-II, Professional Technology I-II, Pattern and Modeling, Introduction to Prosthesis, Introduction to Orthosis, First Aid, Positive Psychology and Communication Skills in the Orthopedic Prosthetics and Orthotics program; In the second year, Orthosis Analysis and Evaluation, Prosthesis Analysis and Evaluation, Professional Ethics, Communication in Health Institutions, Biomedical Technology, Clinical Diseases in Prosthetic Orthotics, Prosthetics I-II and Orthotics I-II are studied theoretically and practically. In addition, students are given an internship at the end of the training program.
