PURPOSE:
After students are given concepts and definitions related to nature and environment in the form of basic sciences such as biology, ecology, climatology; The emergence of various natural and human-induced environmental problems, their effects, and the solutions that can be brought to these problems are given in detail in the courses (air pollution, solid wastes, land use and environment, etc.). In addition, in order to shed light on students' working lives, national and international legislation on environmental issues is comparatively studied. In this direction, the main purpose of the program is; The aim of this course is to provide students with an awareness of the importance of the environment, why it should be protected and what we may encounter if it is not protected, and to enable graduates with this awareness to work on environmental issues.
QUALITIES SEEKED IN STUDENTS
Physical Characteristics: If the graduates of this program want to work in the field, depending on their preferences, they will take long walks; Likewise, if they are going to work in a laboratory environment, their physical characteristics must be suitable for them as they have to stand for a long time.
Skills: It is sufficient to have enough hand skills to be able to do the experiments comfortably. It does not require any special skills.
Attention: It is absolutely necessary to have a love and interest in nature.

Since environmental problems have been on the agenda in our country for the last 10 years, environmental technician is promising as a new branch. Because, there is a need for an "intermediate staff" who will serve at the level of technician between the field of duty of those who have graduated from 4-year undergraduate programs such as Environmental Engineering and Biology, and those who are high school graduates.
