Medical Services and Techniques Department
History
Iğdır University Health Services Vocational School was established in 2008 with the decision of the Council of Ministers. In addition, our School has completed its establishment with the writings of the Higher Education Board dated 23.09.2009 and numbered 30609 and also with the writings dated 17.02.2010 and numbered 6587. The Department of Medical Services and Techniques, established within the Health Services Vocational School, started education in 2009.
Medical Documentation and Secretarial Program and Medical Laboratory Techniques Program, affiliated to the Department of Medical Services and Techniques, were opened in 2009, and the Environmental Health Program and First and Emergency Aid Program in 2010. Our School of Medical Services and Techniques Department started accepting students for its current programs in 2009 academic year with the Medical Documentation and Secretariat program and the Medical Laboratory Techniques Program. In the 2012 academic year, the Environmental Health Program, the First and Emergency Aid Program, the Medical Documentation and Secretariat (EE) Program and the Medical Laboratory Techniques (EE) Program; In the 2013 academic year, the First and Emergency Aid (EE) Program and Environmental Health (EE) Program started to accept students. Anesthesia Program affiliated to the Department of Medical Services and Techniques was opened by the Higher Education Council on 04.05.2017. With the letter of the Council of Higher Education dated 20.10.2017 and numbered 75850160-101.03.01-E.70396, the Audiometry Program and Optician Program under the Department of Medical Services and Techniques were opened. The offer of student admission to the Opticianry Program was approved by CoHE in 2018, and education started with 40 students in the 2018-2019 academic year.
Iğdır Health Services Vocational School Environmental Health (EE) Program has been closed in accordance with the letter of the Council of Higher Education dated 30.01.2018 and numbered 75850160-301.01.01-E17470 on "closing evening education programs and transferring them to day education programs".
The Department of Medical Services and Techniques, which was established with the aim of training personnel for the needs of assistant health personnel in the health sector, is educated knowledgeable and skilled Health Technicians in accordance with the conditions of the country and associate degree is given in its programs. In addition to the classrooms of our school, our students practice their classes in Iğdır State Hospital Laboratories, Iğdır Public Health Center laboratories, our School's Microbiology Laboratory, Environmental Health Laboratory, Hospital Medical Archive, and clinics and polyclinics.
